The Last Hurrah for Crinkly - Euro tour (9/7-?) Day 34 (3) Bathing our troubles away (10/10)

Go to the Parliament to get tickets to take a tour and they are sold out for the day (this is what we get for not planning ahead) so we walk around a bit and decide to go up to a bath house. On the way we stop at a cat cafe, have a coffee and pet some cats that just roam freely and hang out all day which is pretty sweet. Walk all along the main artery seeing the buildings as we go and get eventually to hero square which is a giant square with statues and traffic all around it with a park on the other side of it.

Back at the parliament... no tickets so guess we wont be touring this bad boy

Getting a closer look of the water facing side of the building

Thats where we were yesterday

As we were walking around, came upon this beautiful building

Back side of the cathedral

ummm cat cafe??? yes please

Seems like everywhere you look, theres another museum

Little market based within the castle walls

Just basking in the beauty

Sharing Crinkly with his new statue friend

Such an intricately designed church

Look at that stone work. Statues, designs built into the wall... freaking awesome

Some of the tents chilling in front of the palace

Different view with the main entrance captured

Pond views

We finally found the Széchenyi Thermal Baths that we came for... so far looking good

Such an ornate entrance lets do this

Inside looking even better

Just some more art walking around this place

Guess it makes sense for a thermal bath to have a fountain

Time to soak

This is why this bath is the most touristy... such wonderful views

Lap pool that you need to have a swim cap to enter... dont need a cap for the baths areas but the swimming pool you do... dont understand that restraint but guess I dont need to

Marc just floating around enjoying some bath time with strangers :)

Lights are starting to come on and its emptying out

Let the party continue

That little pool in the middle was like a little hot tub surrounded by a mini lazy river loop. Was interesting

Found some more secluded pools inside

Just a lil secluded... hahah

Crinkly's sherpa getting some much needed relaxation bath time

Some nice night views of the castle from earlier

Went back to the fair and found a craft beer cart... so naturally we had to try a few

An example of some of the offerings

Marc celebrating the acquisition of Crinkly friends with Crinkly

This was the drained area earlier

These statues look even better at night

The other side of the square

The square in all its amazing glory

Marc showing me how youre supposed to drink wine

I am a good student

Blue steel right there (clearly not me hahah)

Marc is ready to feast

Round 2 ahhh yeah!

Walking through the park and stumble upon a festival which was cool (lots of food, drink, music, etc.) but we then go over to the Széchenyi Thermal Bath to get some hot spring action in; it was a little expensive and we had to buy sandals if you didnt have them and didnt even need them as they were more of a death trap than not having them (slipping all over the place). On top of that, they didnt have any single lockers available so we had to upcharge for a cabana which they didnt give it to us for the price of the 2 lockers which is somewhat infuriating but I guess thatll show us to go earlier and/or go to a non tourist trap one. Water in the pools wasnt as warm as I would have liked it (not a single one was hot, luke warm was the hottest they got) but the place was beautiful and there were places to get beers and what not if you wanted so you could spend all day there just chilling. Once the bath house closes, we get dressed and go back to the festival to have some craft beers from one of the stands there which were ok but best by far was the RIS (of course I would say that). Continue to walk through the park and eventually make our way over to Paprika which was recommended by our guide. Place was decked out in cool items and the food was fantastic; great suggestion for sure. Grab transit to head back to the place.
