The Last Hurrah for Crinkly - Euro tour (9/7-?) Day 19 Day trip to Glengarrif (9/25)

Have breakfast at the house then we get in the car and drive across country to the Glengarrif nature reserve to do a lil exploring. First stop is Barley lake which we have to take this tiny road (even for Ireland standards I feel) up and up until we get to the very end and have to find parking somewhere (no lot or anything from what I could tell). Once we get out we start walking in a general direction and start wading our way through a giant bog; turns out we missed what I am imagining is the trailhead as I cant imagine they would have people come up to see this beautiful lake and have them wade through marshy land.

Beauty is everywhere you look

one more pic before heading back <3 :)

But once we got to view the lake, it was beautiful; youre incredibly high up so you get to look down on the valleys below and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Once we get back to the car, we drive down to take a little walk to eventually wind up at a waterfall which is cute. After seeing the waterfall, we go do the big meadow hike before going into town and getting the last ferry over to Garnish Island to walk around the gardens, which like the one earlier this trip, is not in its prime due to the time of year but still has plenty of beautiful flowers and is a cool island to explore. The tower on the island was closed to the public which sucked but there were plenty of seals lounging about both to and from the island which was cool to see. Drive back to Cork through Gougan Barra to see a tiny church and to see where the river Lee starts; the river/lake was pretty still allowing for some good reflection pictures and allowing us to really enjoy the scenery (theres a trend with going around Ireland and enjoying the scenery). Finally get back to the house after a very long day. Have dinner at the place then drive around town trying to find some live music; eventually winding up at Spalpin Fanach which had a group of people jamming together with instrumental and vocal songs both. The french dude who we met at one of the previous bars in line, took out his instrument and started playing with them a little bit which was pretty cool. Was awesome music and then we head back to the car to get some rest back at the place.
