The Last Hurrah for Crinkly - Euro tour (9/7-?) Day 26 History lessons in Cork (10/2)

Go spend some time in town by checking out the butter museum for a little bit (lots of historical artifacts showing the development of the butter industry in Ireland) before joining the signing rebel walking tour which was a 3 hour singing/poetry historical tour about the rebels that came from Cork and their impacts on history.

The oldest butter known to man... think its from like roman times or something like that

Crinkly approves... I have found my place

Street art that Crinkly approves of

Street art everyone approves of

Stumbled upon a theatre setting up for a concert tonight. Was an old church.

Having a beer at the rock and roll pub near fanac

Bathroom art ahhhhh ya

Missed the bus so enjoying a quiet walk back home

A brief glimpse of one street tour song

Girl of diamonds

Wild Rover

Unsure of the song but getting rowdier

Grace - beautiful song

Caledonia - another amazing song

Unsure of the song but more upbeat

Another I dont know but enjoy

Guest appearance from one of the people who arranged the singing tour earlier today

Its always nice hearing their folk songs and having some of the history of the city explained both in speaking and with songs. Was a beautiful day so I stay around town and talk around bit while Marion goes back to the place. Walk a bit and go back to Izz Cafe for an early dinner. Walk a bit more before winding up at Ziggys for a few beers then go over to an spalpin fanach for more music; tonight its a more professional performance with a lot more people in the place (hard to find a table even for just 1). People were dancing, singing along and getting all into the jams which is easy to do with this great music. After they finish and the bar closes, I walk back to the place cause i think I missed the last bus (45 min walk or so).

The Last Hurrah for Crinkly - Euro tour (9/7-?) Day 25 Beare'ing it all (10/1)

We go over to drive through the Ring of Beare which many of the locals say is preferred over the Ring of Kerry that many of the tourists hit when they come over. I dont think one can go wrong as its all freaking beautiful. We get over to the coast and find the Dursey Island cable car shuttling people back and forth. We opt not to go on it but start driving back and I go walking into the marsh to see some ruins and come across a goat stuck in the fence as it starts to rain.

View down below from the meditation retreat place we stopped at

Tis beautiful and calm up here

Path of enlightenment

One more flappy flag pic

Such beautiful country side

Farming some seafood

Just enjoying the weird sky

Stopped in nearby town to have a local beer

Got back to the place and had some of the beers I bought the other day

Crinkly enjoying having some local friends to hang with

I assume the farmer who cares for these animals would find it before any harm was done but I couldnt take any chances so I sit there and struggle with the goat to come to an understanding on how to best help it out. Eventually get it unstuck but I got a bit wet in the process which was annoying but cest la vie. Try and dry them off as we drive around and next we go to the Ballydonegan Beach in Allihies so Marion can swim around a little bit and I walk around and take pics of the lovely cove. She gets done and dried/dressed then we get in the car and continue on our path and stop by this small church in Eyeries, the St. Kentigerns Catholic church, which has a bunch of really cool, modern, beautifully made stained glass windows. Continue to drive around and the whole way is just beautiful countryside as one comes to expect here in Ireland. Eventually we wind up in Kenmare where I get to try a beer from the local brewhouse after walking around town a little bit; the town is extremely colorful and quaint and nice to take a stroll around. After we finish there, we drive back to the place to have dinner and drinks at the house as we wind down from the day.
