Wake up first thing so I can get to the post office when it opens. I am able to ship 6.5kg stuff to a friend in Munich Germany from post office as they had boxes I could buy and tape I could use to seal it which was awesome, but a little expensive (think I spent around 80E total but worth it to not have to carry that extra weight for the next 3 months. Grab breakfast while out then head back to the hostel to checkout. Chill in hostel doing research and booking things then go to take the bus to the train station.

Lets start this traveling around |
Train to ballyhaunis was a pretty ride through the countryside. Wifi went out halfway through which sucks. It is misting and I have some time to kill until my host is free from work so I stop in first pub open (Nicholson) which was lively for Monday afternoon; turns out this is not normal and its due to the gaa championship match this past sat that had Co Mayo playing (they lost). Bartender Kathy was awesome. Everyone seemed to know everyone in the pub (town is 2k people so makes sense). Talk with some of the guys that are there drinking (Jimmy- oldest of the folk was clearly respected and known by everyone young and old and he was amazing.) as they dance and carry on. Noel picks me up. Go to his place up the road. Makes seafood stew and we have tea and chat and go into town for an ice cream bar for dessert. Shower then head to bed.
Hostel review for Kinlay House Hostel in Dublin - decent place. Great location. Amenities were ok. Breakfast was basic. My key card kept getting erased and got locked out first morning at 5 for like 30 minutes. Was really annoying. Staff friendly/ helpful. Bed thin mattress and pillow. Uncomfy and noisy as one moves. Room was noise on weekend as pub out back had back patio.
