Berry's SEAJ trip Day 47: Little India and meeting up with Duc (7/22/15)

Woke up late again and went with Jeff to Little India for lunch where I had some butter chicken and a mango lassi :). We then went to Chinatown to checkout the Buddhist tooth relic temple which is free and has some good information about Buddha along with beautiful murals/art/statues all around.
Came upon Buffalo Road so had to have a Buffalo Bayou Beer. Berry and the lady in the back ground are judging me. The lady more so.
View down the market street. Lets see what we find eh Berry?

Apparently Singapore's bday is around now. Berry and I are an excellent present if I say so myself.

First room in the tooth relic temple. Stunning to say the least.

One of the murals on the wall. So fresh and so clean clean.

Close up of the alter.

Berry taking in all the little Buddha statues on the wall.

Dragon creations on the wall.

The ceiling - that a big enough dragon for ya?

The roof of the temple has tons of plants growing on it.

Berry found another beautiful flower. Believe these are the flowers of the bromeliad.

This is the top of the temple. You can grab that handle and spin that central part of the room to make some sounds. So of course we did just that. The outside wall was more of those little figurines as well.

Berry appreciated the ingenuity this coffee shop displayed for their tip jar. (We stopped and got a coffee after the temple to hydrate a little)
It is this 4 story temple with various historical descriptions of Buddha and statues all around, and on top there is a wheel you can spin to make some chimes. Cool temple that is definitely worth a visit. After that we meet Jamie, also from SR, where we check out a Hindu temple and Muslim mosque (which was in service so we couldn't go in), before we headed over to explore pub street and the quay area again. We meet Duc Le (one of my Dad's friends from work) at Brewerkz where we have a couple beers and just chat for a few hours until its time to meet Dylan for dinner at a hawker center. The food was good (fried carrot cake? Yes please). We then go to a pool hall near pub street and play a few rounds before realizing the time. We quickly close out and all run to catch our respective buses as we do not want to miss the last one.

Recognize this bridge? Berry likes it more at night (its cooler and prettier).

Second hint as to where this bridge is (we saw it yesterday when in Clarks Quay).

Getting on the metro to go get some grub.

Hawker center where we got some grub. Pretty much a giant food court. Was a fun experience.

Team Berry (plus Jeff and minus a few OG members) playing some pool. We lost track of time and almost missed last bus.

Berry is glad we made the last bus as it was significantly cheaper than getting a taxi back to Jeff's.
